DESCRIPTION:The Analog Forever Exhibit 2026 \nAugust 8 – October 7\, 2026 \nLightBox Photographic Gallery & Fine Printing\n1045 Marine Drive\nAstoria\, Oregon 97103\n(503) 468-0238\nHours: Wednesday – Saturday 12 pm to 5 pm \nAt the dawn of photography our hopes and sights were set on finding the science that would allow us to produce an image with light and to display the latent image. It was the inquisitive scientific mind\, the human hand\, and creative ideas that furthered the Art of Photography. In the world of today\, current photographic technology and past process discoveries are merging\, and we see creative photographic works that use both modern resources and the touch of the human hand with historical photographic processes. \nFor the fourth year\, LightBox Photographic Gallery and Analog Forever Magazine have formed a partnership to present The Analog Forever Exhibit. With this gallery exhibit\, we wish to celebrate the lessons we have learned\, the processes we have discovered\, and the paths we have forged. The work in this exhibit all includes an analog element of photographic means. B.\nEugene\, OR. 97405\nPhone: (541) 729-3572\nThe gallery will be open Tuesday through Friday from 1-5 pm.\nCall to be sure we are open or to reserve a special viewing time.\nhttps://www.waltobrien.net/the-o-brien-photo-gallery \nIt’s been about 10 years now since I converted a spare DSLR camera\nto infrared. Five camera conversions later and I’m still smitten by how\nIR has jazzed up my hitherto feeble efforts at landscape photography.\nI’ve been a diehard B+W photographer since the 1980s\, having burned\nfilm through a succession of 4×5\, 5×7\, 8×10 and pinhole cameras\,\nmostly aimed at the usual suspects—abandoned buildings\, old barns\,\nghost towns\, eerie interiors\, etc—printing in silver and then platinum. \nOccasional forays into straight landscape photography taught me how\nchallenging it is to master the black-and-white landscape print.\nInfrared has become my secret sauce. Those vexingly muddled middle\ngrays characteristic of green scenery when photographed in straight\nB+W hop off an IR print as sparkling highlights (sometimes too much\nso). And those pale blue skies that used to swallow up the clouds now\nshow up as deep rich tones\, setting off the clouds in brilliant fashion. \nAnd now\, voila´\, I’m a landscape photographer. \nhttps://richbergeman.zenfolio.com/
