Immerse yourself in the world of “Vintage Vogue: A Styled Photography Lighting Workshop,” where the art of photography meets the elegance of retro fashion. This special event will take place at the stunning and exclusive European-style Chateau de Lis, in Oregon City.

Explore the magic of lighting with speedlights, as talented models don retro styles in an old-world setting, providing you with a unique backdrop for capturing stunning portraits.

Throughout the 6-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to work with small, portable speedlights and a variety of modifiers, to sculpt light, balance ambient light with flash, and create stunning portraits. We’ll be discussing both the technical and aesthetic sides of lighting, and will be working both indoors and out, in some stunning, magical spaces. You’ll also learn about styling, and how to give excellent direction to your models, to perfectly bring your vision to life.

After learning from Fritz’s instruction, you’ll dive into hands-on shooting time with Fritz’s personal input and feedback, where you’ll apply what you’ve learned. You’ll be working with professional models in vintage dress, with a small student-to-model ratio, so you’ll have lots of opportunity to practice what you’re learning, as well as add beautiful images to your portfolio. Fritz’s personalized oversight allows for immediate feedback, ensuring you develop confidence and precision in your shooting.

Fritz Liedtke is a professional photographer and artist, with a BFA in photography. He’s won numerous awards, grants, and residencies for his work, and his images have been widely published by magazines such as National Geographic, Lenswork, Professional Photographer, and more. His artwork is held in numerous museum collections in the US and abroad. Fritz has been teaching his popular photography workshops for 25 years, from Portland to Provence, Santa Fe to Tibet. His passion for the art of photography, combined with his extensive knowledge and experience, make for fun workshops that are jam-packed with great information; he loves helping his students grow as artists. Working with SAS Events, he’s excited to lead this uniquely styled lighting workshop.
