Patrick Plaia has been passionate about photography for most of his life, starting photography in high school in Indiana as newspaper and yearbook photographer. He studied audio-visual communication at Indiana University- Bloomington, and visual arts at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon.
Patrick is a member of PhotoZone Gallery in Eugene and has shown photographs locally and across the United States. He lives in Eugene, Oregon.
“I have been hiking on Spencer Butte since I moved to Eugene in 1994. First with my dog Jasper, and for most of the years with Coffee, a loyal Gordon Setter. Although the physical trail changes little from year to year the scenery is always unique. The seasons bring their changes and the light is always the main factor in photographs. The cloud and fog levels offer some of the most dramatic visions as they interact with the light. This is an ongoing project, there’s often something interesting to photograph and a new dog to train. See you on the trail!”
