Have you ever been captivated by the grace of a dancer, or the power of a dance performance? Have you wanted to capture that magic in a photograph? If so, this class is for you!

In this class, you’ll learn the skills you need to take stunning photos of dancers. We’ll cover everything from camera settings to lighting, working with natural and artificial light, posing and directing, clothing and setting selection, and letting a concept evolve into something better than you imagined. Working in the beautiful BodyVox dance studios, Fritz will demonstrate concepts, working with skilled dancers from BodyVox; you’ll also get to work with dancers to create your own stunning images, with Fritz’s help. Lighting and camera gear will be on loan from Pro Photo Supply, so you can try out new gear, or have Fritz help you maximize the gear you already have. We’ll also have time for review and critique, so you can improve on your images the 2nd day.

Join us for this 2-day workshop, where we’ll review some of the best dance photography out there, and work on creating some of our own, with the dancers of Portland’s own BodyVox. You’ll come away with new skills, new friends, and some really cool photographs.
