Franklin FOTO is pleased to announce our exhibition for the month of June. I Will Not Hurt Myself/I Will Not Hurt Others, will run from June 7 to June 30 and will feature photography by Michele Thompson from her book of the same name.

I Will Not Hurt Myself/I Will Not Hurt Others combines traditional photography with the abstract and text to talk about suddenly finding oneself in the middle space, freed of personal history, with both passion and apprehension for the future and distrust in the contentment of the now; that it could all be an illusion, something to be snatched away at any moment.

“When I was young, I lusted after the freedom that would come with being an adult. In some ways, it feels like my generation has never completely grown up. Holding onto that inner child maybe isn’t such a bad thing. But it feels like there was a box that didn’t get checked. I kept waiting for some line of demarcation that never came…”

An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, from 5-8 p.m. Ms. Thompson’s work will be on display through the month of June.
