Loren Nelson, The Colors of Time: Abstracted Visions from Astoria’s Boatyard

I have spent hours wandering through this forest (harbor?) of colors and textures, mesmerized by the amazing combinations of layered paint and rust! In my exploration of abstract images, I’m going beyond traditional visual representation and inviting viewers on a journey of personal interpretation and contemplation.

Rich Bergeman • The Paleo Lakes Project

Water is the defining element in the geography of Oregon’s High Desert. An odd thing to say, perhaps, considering there is so little of it out there. But that wasn’t always so. During the late Pleistocene, the entire expanse of the Great Basin was covered by vast inland seas. Over the last 10,000 years they ever so slowly dried up, leaving the arid, steppe terrain we’re familiar with today..

Bill Kirby • Portraits of King’s Hill

On a quiet fall morning in Portland’s King’s Hill neighborhood I discovered historic homes illuminated by soft light on their century-old facades. What began as a few images soon became a project to explore the neighborhood’s history, atmosphere, and distinctive architectural styles. Portraits of King’s Hill is a series that capture each residence’s character and presence.
