Ken Hawkins will be presenting an exhibition of his work, titled Jimmy – A Remembrance and On Assignment, at the Franklin Foto Community Darkroom and Gallery throughout the month of March. This exhibition showcases his photographic work with the late President Jimmy Carter spanning from the 1976 campaign through the 2010s.
Additionally, the exhibition includes selected images from his work as a photojournalist over the past fifty years.
An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, from 5-8 p.m., featuring an artist’s discussion at 7 p.m.
Ken Hawkins is a distinguished photojournalist who has documented politics, disasters, and conflict zones—including Vietnam, Nicaragua, and El Salvador, since 1970. His work has been featured in numerous publications and agencies, including TIME, Fortune, Forbes, Paris Match, Stern, The New York Times, Newsweek, Wired, and the British Broadcasting Corporation.
In 2016, Hawkins authored “Jimmy Carter – Photographs 1970 – 2010,” featuring a foreword by Carter White House Deputy Press Secretary Rex Granum. Mr. Hawkins’ work is currently represented by The Monroe Gallery in Santa Fe. Copies of his book will be available for sale at the gallery.
