Eksod is an immersive sound and visual art experience offering an intimate perspective of a young Albanian woman’s attempt to emigrate to the United States. All the sounds and prints were recorded and photographed while the creator, Fernando Valls, was living in Albania recording sound for other film projects. The experience is akin to a short film where the cinematography has been replaced with still photographs. A walk through the old barge building of Zidell Yards, which is usually inaccessible to the public, is worth the trip on its own and serves as a perfect backdrop to fully envelope the audience as you make your way through the installation.
